Julia Morales just wrapped up her ninth season as a member of the Houston Astros broadcast team on AT&T SportsNet Southwest. You can also catch her on the Astros and Rockets pre and postgame shows. She is a two-time Emmy Award winner for her work on the weekly show Astros Bases Loaded as well as the broadcast. Before moving to Houston, she worked as a sports reporter for Time Warner Cable News, formerly YNN in Austin, covering a wide range of sporting events including the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, World Series, and College Baseball World Series.
Prior to joining the Time Warner Cable sports crew, Julia was the weekend sports anchor/reporter for KYTX-TV in Tyler, Texas. While in Tyler, she traveled to Arlington to cover her beloved Dallas Cowboys and reported live from high school football games. Julia began her television career at KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas.
A native of Crandall, Texas, Morales spent two years as a “World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette” before graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, Julia was a member of Texas Pom and watched the Horns’ 2005 National Championship season from the sidelines.
